Who are the Night Owls?
Atkinson Academy PTA dads.
Night Owls Mission Statement:
Dads that give a hoot! The mission of the Night Owls is to help improve the educational, creative, and learning experience to all students at Atkinson Academy.
What we do:
We conduct fun, enriching events for all of the students. We also raise funds to benefit the school. Examples:
Raise funds annually for the school field trips (last year over $5,000!) - Funded $2,000 towards books for the new kindergarten
- Funded paving for the walkway between the elementary school buildings
...and those were your donations!
Why we do this:
Parental involvement is important.
How do we operate:
Relaxed, fun atmosphere that the Night Owls are known for; the events are not only fun but the lip syncs in particular are a good learning experience for the kids.
What is required:
A low level of commitment
- Only 6 events per year (ice cream social, bingo and the lip syncs)
- We have monthly meetings the first Wednesday of each month at the school
